Research
The 2000/01 Child Care and Family Support Hub funding round provided funding to fourteen child care services throughout Queensland for the development of child care and family support hubs.
Twelve of these funded services participated in the Hub Action Research project from June 2001- June 2002. The additional ten hubs funded in the 2001/02 funding round were involved in the Hub Action Research project from June 2002 to June 2003.
The main purposes of the Hub Action Research Project are to:
- provide an opportunity for funded services to explore an action research approach to guide their planning, observation, action and reflection in establishing Child Care and Family Support Hubs
- publish reports on the web about the strategies and processes that services use to establish and operate hubs in different locations across the State.
The information gathered from the research project will be used:
- as a source of information about the strategies and processes that could be used to establish hubs
- to support continuous improvement and development in the provision of integrated early childhood and care services for children and families
- to further understand the challenges and benefits associated with the provision of integrated child care and family support services
- to inform the development of future strategies, funding programs and policies to assist in meeting the Queensland Government's commitment to ensuring better integration of child care and family support services.
