Search tool

The search option in the mapping tools allows you to search for child care services using the name of the service, a suburb/town, a postcode or SLA.

Search by name

Click on Search located above the map.
The search type field defaults to Child Care Service Search.
Enter the name of the service in the search field. If you are not sure of the exact name of the child care service, enter part of the name and use % as a wild card. For example, %education% will find all child care services that include education in their name.
Click on the Search button.
A list of services matching the search criteria is displayed in the Candidates field. Scroll through the list and select the relevant option.
Click on the Show in map button. The map will reposition and will display the selected service and any services located nearby.
The contact details for the service/s will be displayed in the Info Results area.
Click on the Show Detailed Information button in the Info Results area to display additional information in relation to a particular service, including the hours of operation, age range of children accepted and maximum capacity.
Click on the Return to choose another service link to return to the Information Results area.

Click on Search located above the map.
Select Postcode Search in the search type field.
Enter the postcode in the search field.
Click on the Search button.
The postcode is displayed in the Candidates field.
Click on the Show in map button. The map will reposition and will display the services located in the selected postcode.
The contact details for any service/s will be displayed in the Info Results area.
Click on the Show Detailed Information button in the Info Results area to display additional information in relation to a particular service, including the hours of operation, age range of children accepted and maximum capacity.
Click on the Return to choose another service link to return to the Information Results area.

Click on Search located above the map.
Select Suburb Search in the search type field.
Enter the name of the suburb/town in the search field.
Click on the Search button.
A list of suburbs/town matching the search criteria is displayed in the Candidates field. Scroll through the list and select the relevant option.
Click on the Show in map button. The map will reposition and will display the services located in the selected suburb/town.
The contact details for any service/s will be displayed in the Info Results area.
Click on the Show Detailed Information button in the Info Results area to display additional information in relation to a particular service, including the hours of operation, age range of children accepted and maximum capacity.
Click on the Return to choose another service link to return to the Information Results area.

Click on Search located above the map.
Select Street Search in the search type field.
Enter the name of the street in the search field. (Do not include the street number.)
Click on the Search button.
A list of streets matching the search criteria is displayed in the Candidates field. Scroll through the list and select the relevant option.
Click on the Show in map button. The map will reposition and will display the selected street and surrounding area.
The contact details for any service/s will be displayed in the Info Results area.
Click on the Show Detailed Information button in the Info Results area to display additional information in relation to a particular service, including the hours of operation, age range of children accepted and maximum capacity.
Click on the Return to choose another service link to return to the Information Results area.

Click on Search located above the map.
Select either SLA Code Search or SLA Name Search in the search type field.
Enter the SLA code or name you wish to search for in the SLA search field.
Click on the Search button.
A list of SLA codes/names matching the search criteria is displayed in the Candidates field. Scroll through the list and select the relevant option.
The option is displayed in the Candidates field.
Click on the Show in map button. The map will reposition and will display the services located in the selected SLA area.
The contact details for any service/s will be displayed in the Info Results area.
Click on the Show Detailed Information button in the Info Results area to display additional information in relation to a particular service, including the hours of operation, age range of children accepted and maximum capacity.
Click on the Return to choose another service link to return to the Information Results area.

To print a map displaying the location of child care services, use the print option in the mapping tools.
To print the list of services displayed in the Information Results Area, click with your right mouse button beside the name of a service and select Print.
To print the details from the Detailed Information screen, click on the Print These Details link.
