Getting started with the Child Care Services Search is easy. You can either search for a child care service by location, age of child and service type, or by service name. There are over 2000 child care services in Queensland. It is therefore recommended that you personalise your search by completing some, or all, of the search criteria.
1. Search by location, age and type of service
Use this search type if you are looking for services in a particular location or for services that cater for specific age groups.
- Postcode*
For all child care services in a particular postcode area, enter the relevant postcode. If you want to identify services in surrounding areas, you can search on up to three postcodes during the one search. - Suburb/town*
For all child care services in a particular suburb/town, select a suburb/town from the listing provided, or to select multiple suburbs/towns, hold down the control (Ctrl) key on the keyboard whilst clicking on relevant suburbs. Only suburbs where services are located are displayed in the list. - Child's age
To search for child care services that cater for specific ages, enter the relevant age/s in the year and/or months field. It is possible to search on up to three ages during the one search. If more than one age is entered, only services catering for all age groups entered will be returned. - Setting#
To search for child care services based on setting type, select either Centre Based or Home Based from the selection list. Alternatively, use the default setting of Any to return services from both setting types. - Type of care#
To search for child care services based on type of care, select one of the options listed. - Extra services
To search for child care services that offer extra services (that is, before school care, casual care, etc) select an option from the list, or to select multiple extra services, hold down the control (Ctrl) key on the keyboard whilst clicking on relevant options. If more than one option is selected only services offering each extra service will be returned.
* As entering information in both the Postcode and Suburb/Town fields could return an incorrect result, only one of these fields may be used in a search.
# As entering information in both the Setting and Type of care fields could return an incorrect result, only one of these fields may be used in a search.
2. Search by name
Use this search type if you know the name of the service. It is not necessary to know the exact name of the service to conduct a search. For example, searching for education will find all child care services that include education in their name. Enter the name details in the search field and click on Submit to display all services matching your search requirements.
