Planning community safety responses
There are a range of activities that can be included in community safety responses. The variety and scope of activities will be determined by available resources.
Activities that have contributed to reducing the risk of harm and reinforcing safety and security in the past include:
- registration of school leavers with photo ID
- enclosed/fenced event zones
- music, dance parties, beach parties, theme parties and bands
- sporting and recreational activities such as volleyball, football, frisbees
- paragliding, snorkelling, boom netting, skurfing, surfing etc
- karaoke, singing or band competitions
- photo competitions, art competitions, etching competitions
- free food, water, drinks
- free fake tattoos with health messages
- a variety of healthy food available late at night
- recipe competitions
