Foster carer recruitment services are encouraged to use the key messages and promotional resources to support their local promotions.

    • The social media content can be published, as is, on your social media channels as organic content — it cannot be rewritten.
    • The social media tiles can be published on your social media channels organically but cannot be modified in any way. This includes adding branding or logos to the image, or removing the Queensland Government coat of arms.

    • While we cannot supply the MP4 files for the videos, you can share the videos directly to your Facebook page from our Facebook playlist. Choose the video you wish to share from the playlist, select the ‘…’ button and select ‘Copy link’. You may post this link into your post and the video will play automatically.
    • These videos can be shown at information sessions or community events.
  • Foster carers play an important role by providing children and young people with a stable and supportive environment when they are unable to live safely at home.

    It’s normal to have questions if you’re considering becoming a foster carer. The good news is you don’t need to have it all figured out.

    There’s support, training and flexible care options. Carers also receive financial support, including a fortnightly allowance to help meet the day-to-day costs of caring.

  • Campaign postcards

    Foster carer recruitment campaign postcards will be provided to services. As noted above, postcards should not be distributed after May 2027. Additional postcards may be ordered via CarerCommunication@families.qld.gov.au.

    ‘Become a foster carer’ brochure and booklet

    Two non-campaign branded resources have been produced to support foster carer recruitment.

    The ‘Become a foster carer’ resources will be distributed to foster care recruitment services to support their local recruitment activities:

    • Fold-out (DL) brochure to be used at community events and other promotions as an easy take-away resource.
    • A5 brochure with more detailed information to be provided to people who have completed an Expression of Interest (EOI) or people seeking more specific information to support their decision making. These can be posted to people who submit an EOI or emailed.

    There are no time limits on the use of these resources.

    A pull-up banner is also available for each service.
