LGBTQIA+ Roundtable 2025-2027 term
Expressions of Interest open until 6 July 2025
Expressions of Interest for 15 members of the 2025-2027 term of the Queensland Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual + Roundtable (LGBTQIA+ Roundtable) are now open.
Applications are sought from:
- LGBTQIA+ individuals from across Queensland
- Representatives of Queensland-based LGBTQIA+ community-controlled organisations and groups
Membership
LGBTQIA+ Roundtable members discuss and highlight emerging issues, challenges and opportunities relevant to Queensland LGBTQIA+ people and communities and to share your knowledge and lived experience at formal meetings, as well as out of session on occasion (for example, reading and providing feedback on draft strategies or policies).
Membership is for a two-year term (2025–2027) with meetings held quarterly, predominantly in-person, for up to approximately 3 hours. It is expected that the first meeting of the 2025-2027 term will be held in the September-December quarter of 2025.
Note: A representative of the Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance and ex-Officio Queensland Government representatives from portfolios including Health, Education, Justice, Human Rights, Mental Health and the public sector workforce also take part in the LGBTQIA+ Roundtable.
Financial matters
Members are not paid for participation in the LGBTQIA+ Roundtable, however the department will fund travel and accommodation expenses for community members residing outside of south-east Queensland, and reasonable out of pocket expenses (e.g. parking) for all members to attend meetings.
How to apply
Membership is open to LGBTQIA+ residents of Queensland, and representatives from Queensland-based LGBTQIA+ community-controlled organisations. First Nations LGBTQIA+ peoples, people who are culturally and linguistically diverse, people of faith, people with disability and neurodiversity, younger people, older people, and representatives of LGBTQIA+ community-controlled organisations, networks and groups are strongly encouraged to express interest in membership.

Apply by midnight Sunday 6 July 2025 using one of the following options:
Option 1: return your completed LGBTQIA+ Roundtable membership application form and your resume or curriculum vitae (maximum length 5 pages) via email to LGBTI@chde.qld.gov.au OR
Option 2: use the online LGBTQIA+ Roundtable application form to answer the application questions and upload your resume or curriculum vitae.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome after the assessment and selection process has been completed.
Note: Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a Personal Particulars Form. Successful appointees may be asked to consent to personal information being disclosed to the Queensland Police Service for the purpose of conducting a criminal history check. Successful applicants will also be asked to provide a short biography and photograph for the department’s website.
