DFSV commissioning framework

Following increases in investment since 2015 and recommendations from the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce, a 5-year Domestic, family and sexual violence commissioning framework (the Framework) has been developed to guide future commissioning activities, drawing on best practice from across Australia and other countries.

The Framework will underpin delivery of the Safer Families, Safer Communities: A domestic and family violence reform strategy for Queensland.

The Framework contains a commissioning cycle which explains how domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) services are designed, funded and continuously improved. It details how the government will work collaboratively with DFSV sector organisations and other stakeholders to design and implement future services.

We commission services from local and statewide providers which members of the public access or are referred to. It is an ongoing process that adapts to the changing needs of the community, new evidence and government policies, with existing programs and services regularly reviewed to ensure they deliver better results for Queenslanders.

Through to 2030, we will be reinvesting in a range of DFSV services using the Framework. This will be done in partnership with existing suppliers, local communities and relevant peak bodies.

If you would like to discuss the Framework with our team, please email strategic.projects@families.qld.gov.au.
