Independent person information for children and young people
When Child Safety is making an important decision about an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander child, the child and the child's family have a right to have a say and to have an independent person help make sure their voice is heard.
The Independent Person booklet - for children and young people can be printed and used to talk with a child or young person about who can be an independent person, the benefits of having an independent person and where to go for more information.
You can also ask for a copy of the booklet from your Child Safety Officer.
