On 22 May 2025 the Cooktown District Community Centre Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Team is calling on all community members, schools, organisations and local services to join us in raising awareness by wearing purple in honor of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. Together, we can make a difference. Let’s show our commitment to ending DFV and creating a safer, stronger community for all. Wear purple. Display purple decorations at your workplace, school and community spaces. Start conversations about respect, support, and prevention. Prizes for best decorated workplace, school class, and individual!
