Yangga Dahgu – Mekem Gen: Reframing the Relationship Roadmap
The Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands across Queensland. We recognise the enduring impacts of intergenerational trauma, grief and loss, violence and abuse on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families.
The department is committed to reframing the relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and building cultural capability to services to ensure our policies, programs, services and practice are culturally responsive to meet the needs and maximise outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families.
Yangga Dahgu—Mekem Gen: Reframing the Relationship Roadmap (PDF, 6.1 MB) (the Roadmap) establishes the department's roadmap to a reframed relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
The Roadmap builds on the achievements of the department's cultural capability action plans and streamlines the department's other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategies, plans, actions and commitments.
