Mr Dave Egan

Dave Egan is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander maternal and family health who has spent more than a decade working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled organisations. Born in the UK to a Venezuelan mother and Australian father and raised in Papua New Guinea before relocating to Brisbane, Dave is a social worker involved in the delivery of the award-winning maternity service Birthing in Our Community (BiOC). There Dave contributes to the delivery of the dads service, BiOC Deadly Dads, a community-led and culturally safe model of care. His advocacy has helped advance innovative approaches to maternity care that place families and culture at the centre.
