Queensland Disability Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy

The voice of Queenslanders with disability is at the heart of disability reform, and is essential to ensuring reform delivers an inclusive and accessible Queensland.

The Queensland Government is implementing disability reform in partnership with people with disability, their families and sector stakeholders, guided by the Queensland Disability Stakeholder Engagement and Co-Design Strategy (SEC Strategy).

The SEC Strategy was developed by Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN), in consultation with people with disability and the disability sector and released on 30 September 2024. Accessible versions of the SEC Strategy are available via the QDN website.

The SEC ensures that people with disability, their families and supporters, and sector stakeholders are actively involved in designing, testing, and implementing important disability reforms, including those arising from recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission and NDIS Review.

The SEC strategy includes:

a Disability Engagement and Co-design Hub to deliver collaboration and co-design activities, as well as to help build the capability of people with disability, the disability sector, and government agencies to engage in co-design.
a committee that brings together people with disability and stakeholders to provide advice and guidance in the implementation of the SEC Strategy.

QDN leads the delivery of the SEC strategy in partnership with people with disability, other key peak organisations, the disability community and the Queensland Government.
